Pekapekarau Primary School provides opportunities that are co-constructed with tauira (students) and whānau to learn in a range of contexts, be connected and valued for who they are, and develop passion, skills, and aspiring attitudes to support them to be the best that they can be.
Our student’s Hauora (well-being) is of critical importance. We place value on developing meaningful relationships with our students and their whānau to enhance learning. We believe the past is central to and shapes our present and future identity. Our Kura name correction has enabled us to deepen the connection to our place at Pekapekarau. We ensure cultural responsive practices and that an understanding of Aotearoa cultural heritage, using Te Tiriti o Waitangi is the foundation of all we do.
You can see how we do this in our attached Charter/Strategic Plan.
